Picture-making is a search for balance and rhythm of colour and shape, to create a visually pleasing image; with scope for viewer involvement in the layering and textural qualities of various mediums.

Subject matter is thus secondary to the created image derived from an interpretation. The newly created image expands the known universe of visual imagery; thus becoming new subject matter.

Media is seconded to the effects achieved from exploration. How the media is intended to be used is a starting point for creative corruption; breaking things down for the purpose of re-creation provides new insights.
